Best Chippy in the North East. The customer service is on top, the food is lovely. The prices are reasonable. Absolutely loved my visit. They took seconds to get my food ready. Great service.

Popped in at lunchtime in the hope of some Chinese food. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and the freshly cooked food was excellent - tasty and a decent sized portion.

My wife and I called into what we thought was Clem's chippy yesterday afternoon, only to find it is now called Little Fat Buddha. Serving English and Asian cuisine. We decided to sit in and ordered Special Satay, fried rice and chips. Well, I cannot complement the chef enough. The flavour in the dish was sublime and cooked to perfection. The staff were really friendly, one of which was the chef's wife and co-owner. They helped to make the whole experience very enjoyable, so much so that I returned on the evening to pickup a takeaway. Chinese food is certainly a favourite of mine, I can honestly say that the dishes we ordered were definitely the tastiest and certainly as good if not better than restaurants / takeaways in Stowell street. Incidentally, there was a couple on the adjacent table eating fish and chips and in their words they said "the fish was lovely" they also commented on the large portion size. I have no hesitation of recommending The Little Fat Buddah and certainly can't wait for my next trip to my now favourite Chinese restaurant/takeaway.

We moved to Chester Le Street just over a year ago and struggled to find a decent chippy. We found this one, Little Fat Buddha (formerly Clems) the Fish and Chips are beautifully cooked and fresh. One of the best. Highly recommend the food, and the staff are great. We wouldn’t go anywhere else now!

After going vegan a couple of years ago we have struggled to find an Asian takeaway in our area. We found this place on the 'happy cow' app. Staff always friendly and do their best to accommodate dietary needs. Would be amazing if curry sauce could be offered in the future, and we did prefer the previous vegetarian chicken supplies before the switch. Still 5 stars because we really appreciate being included on the menu!

Only nipped in for a cheeky battered sausage and chips,freshly cooked quality. Thoroughly enjoyed and the scraps(crackling) too. Chatty staff too. Traditional and excellent value.

Ordered from here a handful of times now and it has become our regular. Food comes piping hot and everything’s tasty. Highly recommend the Singapore Chow Mein and Crispy Beef in Cantonese sauce. Had an issue once which was quickly resolved by a staff over the phone and they were very friendly!

First off, delivery time was halved which was brilliant. Ordered the salt & pepper chicken which was soft and succulent, loaded with onions and chillis, fantastic. Also had the salt & pepper chips, proper chippy chips that were well seasoned and again, loads of chillies. Last up was Singapore fried rice. The spicing was more Malaysian than the normal madras curry powder flavour you get in most places. So, there was an initial hit of spice, but then it mellowed in to a more fragrant and aromatic dish. Top banana!
